The Body of Truth by Steve Jones

Feature Article “The Body of Truth” by Editor Steve Jones in Volume 5 Issue 5 of Australian Natural Bodz Magazine

As you may know my name is Steve Jones I am the editor and creator of this very magazine. My journey started when I was 12 years old in a family gymnasium back in New Zealand. Yes, indeed I have been actively involved in the health and fitness industry for over 30 years now. I still have the same passion for the natural bodybuilding and fitness lifestyle that I had as a youngster back in my early gym days in New Zealand.

Over the years I have helped thousands of aspiring gym trainees reach their true physical potential for greatness by sharing the knowledge I have attained over my ongoing journey. I do this because I love what I do, I have a passion for promoting this lifestyle and hopefully inspiring others to realize the benefits that this lifestyle has to offer. I want to share a brief interlude on my observations, my experiences and the mistakes I have made. In doing this I hope that you can take something from this making your pursuit for peak perfection a more rewarding and empowering experience.

Why is it so hard for the majority of people to get their body into shape when we technically have an information overload when it comes to diet and
exercise? We have access to masses of information through the world-wide-web, thousands of personal trainers in every town, countless diet supplements and meal replacements yet many still struggle to get the results that they truly desire!

Is it a case of too much information, so much that it confuses the masses throwing them off into some kind of confused tail spin? Leaving them somewhat dumbfounded, and discouraged from time and money wasted on bad information, dodgy products and false promises.

We have exercise and diet guru’s everywhere we turn these days. From the guy who’s done the 2 week PT course, the girl that’s lost 30kgs, the guy who came third in a Mr Whoop Whoop Bodybuilding show
. As they say everyone has an opinion, whether it’s right, wrong or indifferent.

In all honesty I hate guru’s because most are extremely self opinionated and have a sense of arrogance. For sure we are all entitled to our opinionon things but it doesn’t make it right! Plus in the weight loss and muscle building business there are so many variables it is unequivocally impossible to have “The Perfect Plan” that will work for everyone. We are all unique, have different genetic traits, metabolic differences and varied lifestyles. How can anyone possibly have ALL the answers! It’s impossible.

The diet and muscle building industry is very competitive, so it’s easy to see why some folk have this guru mentality. They want to make themselves appear smarter than the next guy and in most cases justify the money they may be charging you for their advice! Remember its business and with business comes egos and trying to establish a point of difference in the market place is very important.

The truth is, there is no such thing as someone that knows everything about everything, especially when it comes to weight loss and muscle building. There are far too many variables to lay claim to being a guru in this industry. My advice if you come across someone that has  guru-ish traits. Run the other way really fast, as this is the only way you are going to lose weight and it won’t cost you a cent!
